hi

i m importing 10g database dump to 9i database

i have made an entry in tnsnames. ora file in oracle 9i home for the 10g database

then i have log in 9i home and took export of 10g db like this

exp system/password@dbname owner=username file=filename log=logname

after that i have set oracle sid for the 9i db into which i need to import the dump
like this i did import

imp system/password file=file log=log fromuser=username touser=usename

but it is giving me errror while importing data below is the error
IMP-00010: not a valid export file, header failed verification
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully

what is wront in this..... ?

IMP-00010: not a valid export file, header failed verification
Export File is corrupted you have to re-export dump files.

it is not like that... problem bcoz of imp/exp betn diff version

IMP-00010: not a valid export file, header failed verification

Cause: Either the file was not generated by Export or it was corrupted.

Action: If the file was indeed generated by Export, report this an Import bug and submit the export file to customer support.

and if version problem then you have to use ORACLE 10G CLIENT to import ORACLE 10G EXPORTED DUMP files.
