Hey guys
I need your opinion. I did the five-day Oracle Administration Workshop I training in July (my employer paid for it). I was thinking about writing the OCA certification exam, but now I am having mixed feelings. I have little experience in oracle and I feel that writing the exam will make me feel a lot more confident about pursuing oracle in the future. What do you think? Go for it or don't waste my time?

I think the value of an Oracle Certification varies greatly depending on the part of the world you are in. This is just my take on things and in fact may be way off base.
In the U.S. I have found very few of companies/interviewers ask about certifications, but instead are looking for real world experience and the ability to solve a problem. Much less theoetical knowledge and, much more practical.
It seems, (and am just guessing here) that in India and the UK there is a much greater value put on the Orace Certification.
But an Oracle certification is never a bad thing, that's for sure !!!

That's true. In the IT world experience generally takes precedence over qualifications. However, I still think that certification gives you the edge over other applicants because eventually the experienced person will have to get qualified.
