Is it possible to include a variable in the unistr('\ ') conversion? Say, unistr(var b)? I know this does not work but is there another way to do this without using a hardcoded value?

Thanks in advance.

Is this a Reports Builder / Discoverer question?

SQL> select unistr('LF\00E5') From dual;

LFa

SQL> select unistr('&var') From dual; --> variable is indicated by the ampersand &
Enter value for var: LF\00E5
old 1: select unistr('&var') From dual
new 1: select unistr('LF\00E5') From dual

SQL>

In Reports Builder, you'd use user defined parameter (precede its name with a colon :)
