Hi ,

I need to alter the table which is being used by some of the packages. If I alter the table, the packages will go to Invalid status. So I have to find the dependencies, and recomplie those packages. Without doing these,

Is any way to compile those packages when at the time of giving alter statment to the table (like using cascade)..

Thanks in advance.

You didnot mention the oracle version.
If you are using the higher version i.e. 9i then you don't need to think about it.
Oracle automatically recompiles the invalid packages when it is called by the application if the status is invalid.

No, but you don't need to recompile the package, Oracle will do it automatically the next time the package will be executed.
