HI,

we have got many program running everyday and uses SQL Loader to load data from .dat files.

we have followed the best prectices described by oracle and also used suggestions from oracle practioners.



in our control file (.ctl) for sql loader

Platform : unix, sun solaris 5.8
Oracle 9.2.0.6


options(direct=true,columnarrayrows=20000,errors=50000,readsize=2560000,streamsize=2560000,silent=header,feedback) 
Bind array size not used in direct path. 
Column array  rows :   20000 
Stream buffer bytes: 2560000 
Read   buffer bytes: 2560000 

Total logical records skipped:          0 
Total logical records read:       4604482 
Total logical records rejected:         0 
Total logical records discarded:        0 
Total stream buffers loaded by SQL*Loader main thread:     2204 
Total stream buffers loaded by SQL*Loader load thread:        0 

Run began on Tue Aug 14 10:42:32 2007 
Run ended on Tue Aug 14 11:29:19 2007 




Any suggestions to improve this loading operations..

any index in the target? disable them first

you can load in parallel if you have many .dat files
