Hi Guys,

I am trying to install 10201_database_linux32 for RHEL 5,but it says this is supported only for RHEL 4 and RHEL 3.Which Oracle 10g file i have to dowload from OTN in order to sucessfully install on RHEL 5.

Please advice.

Check here (Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1) Installation On Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (RHEL5)).

Hi
I am going to install 10gR2 on OEL5 but i can not because it says that os OS must be RHEL3 or 4 , meanwhile the link you mentioned didnot work also it is the same for RHEL5 and OEL5?

U should set the environment before running . ./runinstaller

ASSUME_KERNAL= set RHEL 4 kernal

This will definately help u.

I should exactly type :
ASSUME_KERNAL= set RHEL 4 kernal
in terminal window?
I typed it but i get: command not found (excuse me I am beggienr in linux so please direct me in details)

sorry the real is
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1;
export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL
make a env file before running the installation.
and set the necessary variables in it.
