My scenario is that, for my physical standby database some times some logs will be missing as we will defer dest for sometime for various reasons.....when destination is enabled obviously MRP will be waiting for those missed logs....FAL will be generated....but the problem is,as at this point of time log generation is still there...it is giving preference to fetch frequently generaed logs instead of FAL....so my MRP is been waiting until i transfer those missed logs manually...to force FAL i have been shutting down my standby coz after startup it is fetching missed logs by FAL....i want to do this with out shuttingdown db...is there any way to force FAL to fetch logs..i.e,as it is giving prerference to trnsfer frequently generated logs,in tht time can i force FAL to get my missed logs quickly...if so plz tell me how....thx in advance....

You may want to review some of the bugs listed on Metalink that address this issue. The common consensus is to restart the standby database.
