Hi,

Is it possible to get a SELECT statement to return x number of dummy rows before the actual data retrieved from the statement?

For example is my select statement was return 10 rows, how can I code it so that it returns 12 with the first two rows containing now data?

Is this possible?

Thanks & Regards

What will you do with that?
SELECT ename FROM EMP
UNION ALL
SELECT NULL FROM dual
UNION ALL
SELECT NULL FROM dual
ORDER BY 1 nulls first

Thanks for the reply.

It's to use as a work around on a label report I'm working on. I'm unable to specify which label (position) to start printing on, so I've given the user a graphical view of the lablels using a group of radio buttons, they can select where to start from and based on which has been selected I'll run the SQL acordingly with the required number of dummy rows.

Make sense?

Thanks & Regards
