Dear All,

I am using Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] and Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.0.1.1.1. Now when I am trying to create a database using DBCA with "db_block_size = 8192" I am getting error 'Disconnection forced'. But when I am trying to create a database with "db_block_size = 4096", the database is created successfully. I am also giving the alertlog file for deeper analysis.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1/ You should take another version than 9.0 which was the most buggy version that Oracle never releases.
2/ The problem comes from a corrupt redo logs not the create database.
Did you remove/delete the redo logs between your test? If no, do it, do not reuse the same file.

Btw, it'd be good you read How to format your posts.
Make sure that lines of code do not exceed 80 or 100 characters when you format.

Michel

The database is finally created but manually. DBCA is still unable to create a database with 8192b or 8kb db_block_size.

Thanks.
