Hi,

I have a script which executes the following statement:

execute db_rolling_partitions.truncate_partition(<table name and other arguments<).

From this I understood that the script is truncating the data from table partitions. But execution of script is giving the following error:

BEGIN db_rolling_partitions.truncate_partition('schema','xxx',to_date('x1',YYYYMMDD)); END;

*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-20000: Table xxx not found in
db_rolling_partitions_meta.
ORA-06512: at "ADMIN.DB_ROLLING_PARTITIONS", line 93
ORA-06512: at "ADMIN.DB_ROLLING_PARTITIONS", line 1264
ORA-06512: at line 1

What might be the problem?

Regards and Thanx,
ssunda.

This an exception explicitly codes in your program.
I think message is clear.

I dont have total idea on the script. I was supposed to use this so that data is truncated before next fresh load.

The table is present in the specified database.

I thought may be this error has something to do with oracle maintaining some information about partitions on table.

Thank you,
ssunda.

I'm afraid this is custom table and package and not Oracle ones.

The error is in your code, in your procedure... how is your code?
This is a user-defined exception, or not?

Good, you are able to repeat what was said before.
Please, post only if you have something new or some adding information to say.

I was not talking about my last message but the one I wrote 2 hours before yours. Do you mean it took you 2 hours to write your post?

Just a guess that 'xxx' has to be 'XXX'.

Hi All,

I will post more details about the PL/SQL Procedure used in the script once I get them.

Thank you,
ssunda.

Hi All,

db_rolling_partitions is a package defined in my Database. And truncate_partition is a procedure defined in it.

Actually for the tables on which this procedure should work, there should be an entry of table name in it. Earlier there was no entry and hence was giving the error. Now, I am not getting the error.

"db_rolling_partitions" package is available in "all_source" table.
But I am not able to view the procedure definition in all_source system table. I tried searching in dba_source,dba_objects tables also. But couldnt find it. Please help

Regards,
ssunda.

It might be wrapped.

Ok Maaher. Is there any way to see the definition of the procedure. Because I am getting other errors this time.

Regards,
ssunda.

Have you premissions to see it in the schema where the script is?

When yes, then go to the schema where it is and see it.
When not, then you should contact your administrator.

Another educated guess here. This is a third party package, therefore you do not have the right to see the package as it is wrapped as Maaher has stated.
