What is "Topic Exchange"? [message #218240] Wed, 07 February 2007 08:02 Go to next message

Sorry moderators,

I tried to move a topic from plsql Newbies to EBS, but got logged out during the process. This change my move to a request for move.
Apparently this resulted in a "Topic exchange" notification, but clicking the link gives a page indicating there are no topics waiting approval.
(at least I think it was my action that triggered it; didn't see the link before that)

Probably a bug in the system. It doesn't look too serious. Will have a look later...

I saw it at the same place where "Reported messages" appear. It says simply "Topic Exchange".

What does it mean? I followed the link, but it says "No topics waiting approval.".

Also, is there any kind of "moderation FAQ / help"? Something about how to delete a message, merge topics, split topics (OK, those are easy, but I guess that there are some more other things that we are perhaps not aware of).

I don't know what it is but I can tell you how it happened.
I was connected (or I think I was), I wanted to move a topic from "SQL a PL/SQL Newbies" to "SQL Client Tools" (it was the topic named "TOAD"), so I clicked on "Move" and then I think I was disconnect at this very moment so I first saw a window saying I'm not allowed to do this and at the second try a new window asking me why I wanted to do this.
I filled the window and the "Topic Exchange" appeared.

Regards
Michel

Ah! Perhaps it is about time for you guys in the Netherlands and France to upgrade your old 1200 baud modems to a newer and more reliable v.32 9600 baud modems.
