Hi

Can anybody advise me how I can transfer 500,000 records from one database to another.

I have tried doing it through a db_link but its fails giving me timeout .

I am using oracle 9.2.0.2 in both database.

I will be doing it through an application , so can't use import export tools ..

thanks

Did you check you db link works?
I bet this is the reason and has nothing to do with your move which should work as soon as the db link works.

So you have a network issue.
Activate SQL*Net trace and see what happens.

And this would help how? Copy is part of SQL*Plus. The OP has already told us it needs to be part of the application.
