hi,

how to find the database name in Oracle?
for eg: there are number of databases to be running in a company

i wnt to know how many database to be running and who are all using each database and show their name also

Is there any data dictionary name to find the above solution..
pls send me the complete query to find the above problem

SQL> select * from global_name;
GLOBAL_NAME
---------------------------------------
MIKA.WORLD

1 row selected.

SQL> select name from v$database;
NAME
---------
MIKA

1 row selected.

I have another doubt

i want to show this format given below..see in a organisation number of database sessions to be running..but i wnt to see the user name pw,database name apart from my database name

eg:

col_name1 col_name2 col_name3
------- -------- -------
scott(user) tiger(pw) database name
user2 pw2 DB name2
user3 pw3 DB name3

Passwords are stored as hashes. You cannot see them as plain text. No "if', no "but". That's the way it is.

Users can be found in ALL_USERS/DBA_USERS
