Oracle services for one of my classes. I admit I don't know what I am doing - but I need to have a script that we can use to start and stop the services for a training class - I can't leave Oracle run all the time as it uses almost the resources and conflicts with other tools.

can anyone help me?

Thanks!

Which Oracle database version do you use? Is it XE? If so, why wouldn't you simply use pre-defined "Start" and "Stop" Oracle database scripts which can be found under the "Programs - Oracle_[something]" start menu?
