Hi

Any way to know in unix which application is using a port?

if I do netstat | grep portnumber I do not get much info, only that the port is in use by the server, that all.I want to know which application is using that port.

lsof -iTCP:portnum | grep LIST

lsof -iUDP:portnum | grep LIST

if that command doesnt work
Try

pfiles /proc/* | egrep '^[1-9]|port'

That should give you all processes and their ports
