Hi,

Need some clarfication on Logging Option of Indxes
I have created normal Btree and Partitioned index with default options
Just Create index Statement ...
no explicit parameter or logging, But confusion is why for some Index loggig is YES and NO for some
does it have any thing to do with Archive Log generation, because in our Production environment we have
Archive shipping to DR server, so if indexes with nologging will not be included or what ?.
Database is in Archive mode, Version 9i Rel 2.

Any concerns on this logging/nplogging options as far as Standby and Replication of DB.

INDEX_NAME STATUS PARTITION LOGGING
------------------------------ -------- --- ---
XAK_BAT_BATNB_LOCID_PRCDT VALID NO NO
XAK_BAT_LOCID_BATID VALID NO YES
XIE_BAT_CRDT VALID NO NO
XIE_BAT_PRCDT VALID NO NO
XPK_BAT VALID NO NO
XAK_BAT_LBIDPRDTBATNB_P N/A YES
XIE_BAT_LBIDCRDTPRDT_P N/A YES

Regards

The size of a redo log generated for an operation in NOLOGGING mode is significantly smaller than the log generated in LOGGING mode.
If the object for which you are specifying the logging attributes resides in a database or tablespace in force logging mode, then Oracle Database ignores any NOLOGGING setting until the database or tablespace is taken out of force logging mode.
