Hi all,

can anybody give me the code to fetch ddl's from oracle8.

I would probably use Oracle's Export Utility. Use the switch rows=n to avoid data extraction.

You could also try reconstructing the DDL from the dictionary (user_tables, user_synonyms, user_source, ...) but that's not really easy. On the other hand, I believe that there are scripts on the net that do this.

Depends on which DDL you want (tables, views, procedures, sequences...)
As Maarten said, you can generate them from Oracle catalog some are easy other much more difficult.

Many tools can do it for you (for instance TOAD).
