Can you not ask the person who is using the phrase? They're the one who is most likely to know exactly what they mean.

Problem is I am looking at code written by a person whom I cannot contact now! Embarassed

My understanding is that holding tables are placeholders for tables created in pl/sql before we store the table in the actual database.

But I need more info to proceed!

But these are his words with his meaning, I don't think we can help you unless someone here uses the same words with the same meaning.

Regards
Michel

I would have guessed that a Holding Table would be a table into which data was loaded to await processing.

If your system is dynamically creating and dropping tables on the fly, I reckon you've got a world of pain ahead of you.
