Hi everyone, i've been thinking.

While my jobs is inserting or updating data into table named TB1, can i analyze table TB1?

You cannot use ANALYZE (you can but there are locks and some are queued) but you can use DBMS_STAT package.

Actually, it depends on the version and the analyze you want. In 10.2, analyze no more take lock to get statistics (I don't remember when this behaviour started). But it still gets locks if you use other options, "validate structure" for instance.
