Hi,

my oracle version is 9i.

My table structure

emp:

create table emp(No number,name varchar2(20));

table created.

now i want to change a column name as ename .

what can i do. Am new in oracle

Please help me..

I could tell you to check out the documentation, but hey, here goes:

alter table yourtable RENAME COLUMN name to ename
/


I doubt whether it works in 9iR1 though.

Homework answers should not be spoon fed. The user has to show what they have tried, otherwise they will never learn. I wouldn't have asked if this was homework, I would have stated this was homework and told them to show me what they have already tried.

But the lazy SOB who asked the question has shown time and time again that they are lazy, have poor communication skills, no ability to find an answer even given links to the documentation and have no hope whatsoever of getting a job.
When they go on a real interview, maybe they can ask the interviewer if they can ask someone else for the answer because that's how they have always done it in the past. Sounds like the kind of person I would love to be working with.

Makes you wonder what their 2 years of experience is in. Cheating?
