Hi everyone,

I intend to know if a user is connecting through dedicated server and WORK_AREA_SIZE_POLICY is set to MANUAl the SORT_AREA_SIZE parameter would be in effect.

What if user is performing a sort worth 100M and SORT_AREA_SIZE is 100M and simultaneously other user wants to perform a sort, would the sorting be done in temporary tablespace or in the memory.

Can anyone clarify please

Thanx in advance.

Sort area size is session specific , so this would again happen in the memory , so sizing the sort area size should be done carefully , but automatic pga management will take this burden off from us.

Thanks
