Hello sir


when i try to create a partition using this below method
it shows some following error

>create table <table_name>
partition by range(hiredate)
(
partition <part1> values less than(to_data('1-jan-1980','dd-mon-yyyy')),
partition <part2> values less than(to_data('1-jan-1985','dd-mon-yyyy')),
partition <part3> values less than(to_data('1-jan-1990','dd-mon-yyyy'))
)
as select * from <table_name>;

It shows error
Ora-14019:partition bound element must be one of:string,datetime or interval literal,number, or maxvalue

-plz guide me i am new to partition

TO_DATE not TO_DATA.
