I have the following statement -->

X := i * power ( i + 1, n ) / (power(i+1, n) - 1 );

Now if X and N are known could I find the value of 'i' using sql...

Now I can get that using a loop and by putting an initail value for i and increase or decrease it until I find the value... But is there any other way of doing that ?

Thanks,
Lama

This is a math problem, not a sql problem.

Seems a good exercise to use MODEL clause. Smile
