Hi,

I have bit problem in the validation in oracle.


I have a field named CATNO that field should contain alphanumeric,

But i dont know how to do this.I wrote the following code but its not working.



SELECT
SQ_Num,
ROW_NUM,
'CATNO' FIELD_NAME,
'CATNO Can be alphanumeric or should be not null or blank and at least three characterr' ERROR_DESC
FROM INTERNATIONALNOTES
WHERE
CATNO IS NULL OR
LENGTH(CATNO)<3
-- REGEXP_LIKE(CATNO, ('[97-122 65-90 48-57]'));




Plz help me how to do as soon as possible.

Can you please post a copy-paste from your sqlplus session (if you are on sqlplus), so we can see what actually is going on.

The create statements of the tables you are querying would also be very handy.
