I need help. I'm trying to install oracle which I have already downloaded. Here are the instractions;

Download the Complete Files
92010NT_Disk1.zip (612,817,854 bytes) 92010NT_Disk2.zip (537,604,934 bytes) 92010NT_Disk3.zip (254,458,106 bytes)

Directions

1. Create directories Disk1, Disk2 and Disk3.
2. cd to Disk1 and unzip the 92010NT_Disk1.zip here. 3. repeat the above step for Disk2 and Disk3.
4. After unzipping all the 3 disks in their respective directories, cd to Disk1 and run setup.exe to start the installer.

I do not get the cd to disk1 step. I even tried to put the downloads on cd but when the installer asked me for the cd or directory for the 2 cd, it would not go any further. Can someone please help me to put all this in a lay man's language. Please I need help badly

Jay, what it meant for cd is to Change Directory. From a DOS prompt, type CD DISK1 (like C:>CD DISK1) and hit Enter key. Once you enter into that directory, type SETUP (like C:>SETUP) and hit enter. Then it runs the setup file and installs the ORACLE9i. Otherwise, if you are using Windows and have an explorer, go to open the Explorer and open the folder called Disk1 (or whatever the directory you copied the .zip files in) and just double click on the setup.exe, then it takes cares of the rest. If you still need any help, let me know I would be happy to help you out.

Good luck :)
