I am doing a gap analysis for 9i to 10 g migration how this is going to affect the existing back end -application packages procedures ,loss of existing functionality etc .Although i have gone through the 10g migration doc and metalink doc for upgrade could anyone point me to any other white paper that might be there on this task.

You have to make tests and tests.
Each case is different.
This is one case where reading is mandatory but not sufficient.
