Hi - What are the disadavantages of using Indexes?

Maybe you should specify a little more.
Indexes are there to help you so....normally no disadvantages.

Or you find disk usage a problem (an index uses diskspace)

I will rephrase the question. Indexes are normally used to improve performance. However when is it that they become an overhead?

It is an overhead during updates of the index, that inserts, deletes or updates of one of the index columns.
