Hello,

How to avoid control characters in data and get the remaining part.
here is my query...

SELECT ('
K.C. _XX_!!:_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_Y-') FROM DUAL

it's giving output as

|| K.C. _XX_!!:_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_Y

showing control character(enter key) (1st one '||') in the output.

Thanks in advancce.
Supriya

Start your string after the CRLF.
If you start the string then insert a CRLF, it is part of string.

SELECT (
'K.C. _XX_!!:_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_Y-') FROM DUAL

Uhmm

why is your query
SELECT ('
K.C. _XX_!!:_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_Y-') FROM DUAL

and not like
SELECT ('K.C._XX_!!:_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_XX_!!_Y-') FROM DUAL

? Since you aint being more specific, I cant give you a specific answer, except "dont press the enter button" while typing the query......
