Hi,

I am using oracle 8i,I want to create a xml file from using XMLDB built in and how to read an existing XML file .please let me know if there are any other built ins and give me some example of using the built in.

Not sure about 8i (BTW, 8i is dead. Not worth investing the time on it).
From 9i and above xmlgen packages are more flexible.
For 8i, you may want to stick with old-school methods.

Look for xml docset in application development.
