I want to know when I have to use the data type time stamp

Waiting your answers and thank you in advance

I would suggest googling your question or searching this forum or Oracle Technology Network for 'timestamp'. Do you want to know about these things as Oracle objects or as Forms objects?

Hi David

I have googled it and what I knew is that the stamptime will insert both the date and the time and if I insert NULL into a TimeStamp-type field, I will get automatic DateTime from the OS

That what I read about it.

My question is if I have three fields (Start_time , End Time , Date) what will be the diffrence if I choose Time or TimeStamp data type for the two fields (Start_time , End Time)

Is There Any Diffrence?

Thanks
lune

In Forms a 'date' field always has the time truncated. To get the date and time you need to use 'datetime'. I expect that is you used 'time' then the field would return just the 'time'.

I suggest that you experiment and see what you get. make sure that all the database fields are defined as 'date'.

Where did you see 'timestamp' in Oracle Forms?
