hi guys

Can any one let me know the difference between on using

TRIM and LTRIM AND RTRIM funtions


Ex:

Select trim(col1) from table1
minus
select trim(col1) from table2

col1 has spaces in table1 where as col1 in table2 has nothing.

when i use the above query i have got mismatch records

if i use the following query i m getting difference 0

Select rtrim(ltrim(col1)) from table1
minus
select rtrim(ltrim(col1)) from table2


help me out to understand the functionality
