i am trying to connect to Oracle from an application using transaction monitor (XA calls).but the application is not connecting to oracle. i tried to check for the errors in logfile and so, switched on the trace by modofying the sqlnet.ora and setting the trace level to 16.

this gave me the client trace files at the location i specified but the logfile is not prsent.

anybody has an idea how to do it??

Typically sqlnet.ora file exists in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin folder on client or server both side.

if file doesn't exists you have to create manually through NETCA.(network configuration assistant)
