Is it possible to spool data from Oracle database (using PL/SQL script) to a remote server (without using ftp) and then invoke (from the same PL/SQL) a VB script present on the same remote server?

The Oracle database version is 8.1.7.4.0 which resides on a UNIX server and text file should be created on a WINDOWS 2000 server.

Any help is much apprciated.

Yes it's possible to spool data with the utl_file package to a remote server.

But you cant call a vb script within the PL/SQL.

What kind of elaboration do you need ?

A simple google should suffice.

I would like to know how we can directly download data to a remote server using utl_file package. The oracle database is on UNIX platform whereas the remote server is on WINDOWS 2000 platform and does not have oracle database. However, both the servers are on the same intranet.

What type of configuration are required on remote server and on oralce database?

Apprciate if you can send some sample script.
