Does anyone know how to send secure E-mail from PL/SQL?

It's easy to encrypt data with DBMS_CRYPTO, DBMS_OBFUSCATION_TOOLKIT and other techniques. Similarly, there are a dozen methods for sending mail from PL/SQL. However, I never seen anyone combing these methods to send secure (encrypted) E-mail from PL/SQL.

I don't understand, the article doesn't even mention secure mail.

Encode is not the same as encrypt. The example (as I read it) encodes binary attachments to base64. It's a tranlation to a 'printable'/ASCII form, since the SMTP protocol is ascii based and cannot handle binary data.
(as far as I know)

True, but you could use DBMS_OBSFUSCATION_TOOLKIT to encrypt the text, and then use the process in that article to create a base64 encoding of it, which you could put in the email.

Yep, I think that is the way to go, except that I don't know if/how clients can handle encrypted messages (not attachments, but the actual message itself)
