Probably this is addressed already but I couldn't find it.
I have two servers - one runs 9i and the other runs 10g. The clients that have 10g installed connect to the 10g service fine, but not to the service running on the 9i server. (error 12535). The 9i clients are able to connect to both.
Any ideas?

No clue if ever worked or what changed.

Sorry but Oracle is not my job, having trouble finding truly basic information. Mostly just getting headaches.
Try to give more information.
All systems are Windows based.
Oracle 9i server was installed one year ago, could access database from server computer and one client.
Installed 10g on a new machine a couple of months ago.
Installed clients (run time with Windows components added), one 9i, and one 10g. (I need to test under different environments.)
Now, the only client that can access the 9i database is the one on the same computer as the database.
That client and all others can reach the 10g database. Both listener.ora files are the same.
The 9i server is running the database service and the listener service. The Ora92management service will not start, error that a dependency is missing. I cannot figure out how to start a trace or even which machine to use. I tried a Windows ODBC trace and after start and stop, no file is created.
(Sometimes I feel like I'm losing my mind.)
The sql.ora file shows some errors that I don't see defined, like 505 with secondary error 60.
12535 secondary 12560.
NT OS error code 0.
The Windows Event Viewer shows 2,000+ events but none of them are displayed.
I don't want to be a baby here but all the references I find are over my head. I have a 9i book but it doesn't even mention the listener or which services are required. If you can point me to some baby steps, I promise never to write in again.
