Hi,

I have read for SQL Reference Guide for 10g that the Varchar has been deprecated.

Is this deprecation valid for PL/SQL and PRO*C Datatypes also..?
If so then what would be the impact if the VArchar datatypes are changed to varchar2.

Thanks in advance.

regards,
Siva.

It only means as a datatype in a table - no impact on Pro*C. You can continue to fetch VARCHAR2 table columns into VARCHAR Structs in Pro*C.
