Hi Everyone,

I am migrating a Cold Fusion Portal (with an Oracle 9i backend,) to Linux server and trying to support Linux/Firefox in the process.

The DB is saving characters as Windows Char 8829-1 characters which are coming out on Firefox/Linux as strange glyphs.

The Cold Fusion experts say to set the Db to UTF8 and most of these difficulties will go away.

One of my managers asked me what will happen to the 8829-1 characters when the DB converts them to UTF8...

Good question... I don't know - I have searched this forum, AskTom and researched our documentation and can't find an answer.

Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
