I have a job that runs in Oracle that runs several stored procs and functions. Last night I rec'd errors from some (but not all) of the procs that run from the job. The "error" was the one mentioned above - the password will expire in 5 days. My procs have just one exception block at the bottom that handle all untrapped errors

EXCEPTION
     WHEN OTHERS THEN
		ErrNum := SQLCODE;
		ErrDesc := substr(SQLERRM,1, 100);
		P_ErrorHandler(ErrNum,ErrDesc, 'P_UpdateInfoFromA. id - ' || lMasterKey);

I would like to trap the 28002 "error" and allow processing to continue. How do I go about doing this? When does the connection occur? When the jobs starts? when the first proc is called? When the first begin statement occurs? If someone has some code that would be great!

Thanks,

ktz

I would say create a different user that runs batch jobs which has a non-expiring password.

Great idea, but rules won't allow.

anacedent,

Thanks for the link, but if there is something in that post that pertains to my issue, I do not see it. Perhaps you can explain?

I am new to Oracle, so perhaps I am missing what you think I should get from the discussion in the link. However, I have no dba priviledges. Just a poor programmer trying to keep a job running on schedule.

Thanks,

ktz

By the way, I did google before posting in this forum, and yes, I did read thru the entire post in your link as well before posting to this forum.
