Hello,

I am using oracle 9i and when i execute the below sql query
<--
sql> select value from v$parameter where name is 'spfile';
--->

I get the answer as
<---
?/dbs/spfile@.ora
---->
Note the characters "?" and "@"
The HOME and the SID are not replaced properly.
Is there a way to get the correct string value ?

for eg: if oracle home = /opt/oracle/
Instance = TEST

the query should give me /opt/oracle/dbs/spfileTEST.ora.

Is it the bug in the oracle and pl. direct me to the correct info.

Thanks.

I believe that is the default value. I don't have a 9i database to verify, but my 10g database actually shows the full path and filename.

"?" is a shortcut to ORACLE_HOME. So e.g. in SQLPLUS, you can run:
SQL>@?/rdbms/admin/catproc.sql
