Hello all again.

A tricky one for someone to shed some light on..

I have been requested to dig out some info on personnel pay and over time etc;

I use discoverer Plus 4i
someone wants to know total gross pay,overtime pay and overtime pay as a % of total gross.

Now, to obtain total gross, i have to bring back everything that is an allowance and sum it up.

however, within this allowance set, overtime is a sub set (distinct allowance code)
so to get the total gross i request all allowances, straight forward enough.
but, to get the o/t i need to specify a different condition which overwrites the gross pay one.

i can get both values by having seperate sheets and individual conditions for them, but how can I marry these together without conflicting on the allowance condition?
Tks in advance,
J.

Sounds like you need to use a CASE WHEN statement. To be sure, please post some sample data and an example of what you did so far.
