Hi everybody;

How can I do to perform string manipulation in a long datatype column ? I just want know if a word is present in a column's value ; but problem is that this column is a Long datatype. There's something like instr('ACFBCAC','AC',1,1) to use with a long datatype column ?

you cannot do any string manipulation in long datatype...

I do it ; but it doesn't work ; Oracle raises VALUE ERROR exception
