Couldnot create synonym for snapshot [message #21396]

I am able to successfully create a synonym on a materialized view or a snapshot but when i queried on it I am getting a error message that
synonym translation is no longer valid can I know why..?

Is the MV in a different schema? If so - make sure that the MV owner has granted select to the second user on the MV.
