I have a txt file with several columns and i want to create an external table which will link in the text file. However, there is a column which contains greek characters. The external table is created successfully, but when i query the table, the greek characters appear as ??. The sql code for the external table is:

create table test
(
field1 varchar2(100),
field2 varchar2(100)
)
organization external
(
type oracle_loader
default directory ext_dir2
access parameters
(
records delimited by '\n'
badfile 'test_bad.txt'
discardfile 'test_discard.txt'
logfile 'test_log.txt'
skip 0
fields terminated by '\t' optionally enclosed by '"'
missing field values are null
)
location ('test.txt')
)
reject limit unlimited;

The nls parameters are all set in Greek. How can I define the character set of the datafile?

Check the CHARACTERSET parameter for External Tables.
