I was asked in interview Can Index Size is bigger than table Size

So Please tell me At what scenario it is possible
Then what is need of Index here

How to ignore Index in data retrieval while index search take more time then simple search

Yes.
If a table has a lot of DML against it is one example of how the index can become larger than the table. An index based on composite columns. I'm sure a single column index can also be larger. There are other examples, but that was just one.

You can rebuild your index.

Use a function against the column(s) or use a NO_INDEX hint.
