Hi there,

Can someone tell me how do I logon to SQL*PLUS? I have just installed it. But, I don't know how to logon though. Your help is really appreciated.

hi,

start >>> program >>> OracleHome >>>> Application Developement >>> SQL*PLUS <<enter>>

or

On Command Prompt.
start >>> run >>> sqlplusw for GUI ,
                  sqlplus for COMMAND LINE

How Login to sqlplus.
if Oracle 10g then you have to login First "SYSTEM" a/c and after login unlock "SCOTT" or "HR" schema. ( by default both account is lock.)

if Prior to 10g then login "scott/tiger@tns_entry"

Hi,
How to open procedures & Functions in command prompt
sorry cann't understand.

you want to run/execute procedure or function.
then you have to use sqlplus tools.

i connected to oracle thru command prompt

how can i do that

and regarding sqlplus tools
i want to know whether toad is sqlplus tool ?

SQL> CREATE OR REPLACE procedure myproc
2 is
3 begin
4 null;
5 end;
6 /

Procedure created.

Procedure Syntax

SQL> CREATE OR REPLACE function myfunc return number
2 is
3 begin
4 return 1;
5 end;
6 /

Function created.

Function Syntax


If toad is a sqlplus tool ?

Toad is very diffrent from sqlplus

But if you are looking for a tool with a GUI, Oracle has one.
Which is free, grapichal db tool( a bit like TOAD)
