Hi,

How do i send an email using utl_smtp package, with message size more than 32k.
currently we are using this package to send a mail, with message size not exceeding 32k.

write_data procedure in utl_smtp package will accepts a varchar2, this is posing a limitation on the size.

can someone help me on this?

Thanks
kvs.

Sending a message with size > 32KB is a nontrivial task from PL/SQL.
Essentially you are using the wrong tool for this task.
IIRC, this question was answered both here & at http://asktom.oracle.com in the past.

I give up. Can you?
I've done it, but took the easy way out & used PERL code external to the DB to accomplish the task.
What many folks do not realize is that in actuality an email "attachment" is really part of the message body; just properly encoded within it.
The challenge is to the encoding done so that any/all email clients will properly handle the results.
