We are UPDATING a field in SQL and ALTER the row also. After giving the COMMIT command the system is crashed. What will happen to the commands given, whether it will UPDATE and ALTER the table or not?

UPDATE will make changes to the table.
ALTER will alter it and also implicitly COMMIT changes you did using the UPDATE statement. Therefore, COMMIT was unnecessary in your case.

Then the system crashed - no problem (regarding UPDATE and ALTER).
