This is the create database script. I understand I need to create the initfile upfront and edit it, add the dbname,rollback segment, redo log etc. My question is the control file. When does it get created. I just need to specify it in the init.ora file and get created when the instance is created. Thanks

Hi Joan,
The control files get created when you execute the create database command. Its location & number are as specified in the init file. The size of the control file is dependent upon the parameters (MAXLOGFILES, MAXLOGMEMBERS, MAXLOGHISTORY, MAXDATAFILES, and MAXINSTANCES)
