I try to backup oracle database from client but cannot.
I was install Oracle client same version with oracle database server.
When I use exp command, it show message

EXP-00056:
ORA-12560:

Anyone can help me please.
How to configuration for client to connect to server.

What exactly does your exp command look like ?

Post the export command that you used.

Are you using tnsservice to run this export?

Check if the tnsnames entry is proper.

hi,
try like

first check ur oracle services is start
cmd>set oracle_sid=<sid>
cmd> net start oracleservice<sid>

I think this solution will not work from client systems (other than the Oracle Server). He's got to check the LISTENER and the TNASNAMES.ORA entry for that connection.

right.
but where i said check on client system ...
my point is check oracle services is start or not.
and set oracle_sid enviourment variable.
