Hi all I am new to this site. I am currently doing a Oracle special script project for work.

I am getting errors when using the ROUND function.

The error I am getting is ORA-00932 expected number got CLOB.

I have searched the web and I can't find a definitive way to fix this. I am also new to Oracle special scripts to that doesn't help either.

Is there a way that I can convert a CLOB to a number?

your help would be greatly appreciate this is driving me mad

Have you tried putting a to_Number round the clob e.g.

select round(to_number(clob),2) from x
